Know how Target has some great deals on games this week? Turns out Big W is coming to the party as well.
As picked up by Press Start, the big blue W is offering similarly sizeable discounts on some of this year’s biggest releases including Dishonored 2, Uncharted 4, FIFA 17, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Mafia 3 and Watch Dogs 2.
The full list is as follows:
- Titanfall 2 (PS4/XBO): $35
- Uncharted 4 (PS4): $39
- Skyrim Special Edition (PS4/XBO): $45
- Dishonored 2 (PS4/XBO): $45
- Mafia 3 (PS4/XBO): $45
- Battlefield 1 (PS4/XBO): $52
- Watch Dogs 2 (PS4/XBO): $52
- FIFA 17 (PS4/XBO): $52
- Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (PS4/XBO): $54
There’s also a Xbox One S 500GB bundle with Minecraft and your choice of one game from what appears to be Rise of the Tomb Raider, Rare Replay, Gears of War 4 or Forza Motorsport 6. (So probably Rise of the Tomb Raider or Gears of War 4 for most.)
The sale kicks off from Friday and runs until the 28th. Time to beef up that Pile of Shame, people.

Aeons ago (that is, last gen), didn’t Australian games retail partake in the same sort of ultra-discounting?
I mean, I’m not sure if it was (at the time) new and timely games, but this is back to the weird old days of GAME and JB Hifi price wars.
I’m not imagining it, am I?
It feels a bit like that.
Wow not to be outdone!!
They also have Pokemon Sun and Moon for $46.
Alright JB, time to jump in the fray ;D
Ever since Dick Smith died, it seems like JB isn’t even trying anymore, kinda like when Goku died and Vegeta suddenly gave up.
If only gears 4 was discounted I’d be in heaven. Even so, tf2 and d2 for 80 bucks is my kind of sale.
If only discs didn’t suck.
The day they start having these sales where I can buy a card and download it… I’ll probably have a much larger pile of shame.
Have you seen some of the Black Friday sales on the Xbox store?
Yeah, they’re not that good… yet.
I got X-Com 2 for $45 AU and that was good, but most of the sales won’t be up until the weekend.
If they have anything like those deals on Skyrim (which they’ve confirmed will be on sale this weekend), Dishonoured or Titanfall 2 ($35!!!) then I’ll be getting on board for sure.
Why exactly do discs ‘suck’?
for console gamers it’s the cheaper option almost always, provided you wait a couple of months after release.
Console digital games are outrageously over priced.
On PC it’s a different story with Steam etc.
At the end of the day I don’t about getting every game on release date like it’s some FOMO badge of honour, and I like to have a product I can hold in my hand.
Because it means you have to get off the couch to change games 🙂
lol but in all seriousness you’re absolutely right, disks are almost always cheaper. However as a two console household buying a single digital copy of a game and family sharing works out particularly well, basically means we get two copies for the (admittedly awful) price of one.
The reasoning behind the horrendous price ironically enough is that they need to keep bricks and mortar stores happy so they’ll keep selling their hardware… I still do disks for single player games a lot of the time, so i’ll probably pick D2 at one of these sales.
The photo make me FeelsBadMan
Personally I don’t have a pile of shame.
I buy a handful of games a year and get my money’s worth by fully exploring them.
Hype culture is bullshit.
Which is interesting, seeing as you’re on Kotaku which is 99.9% Hype Culture bullshit as you put it.
Anyone else having issues with actually getting the sale price at checkout? On the main BigW page it advertises the sale price but when you go the individual product page it still comes up at the original price as does the cart if added to it. Am I missing something here or is it just a stuff up on BigW’s end?
