To mark MGS V: Ground Zeroes’ release, the Sony Store is releasing a special Ground Zeroes emblazoned PlayStation 4 in Japan.
Via Kojima Productions‘ Twitter account, the limited edition console features the Fox Emblem — hence calling this PS4 the “Fox Edition.” Priced at 46,980 yen (US$462), the special console comes with a copy of the game and will be out on March 20 in Japan.
No word on whether this console will be released outside of Japan.

Average. I was hoping for a bit more than a crappy sticker. Opportunity missed
So what were you hoping for?
hmmn…
thought they would of done something more special with the console, but to me it just looks like a sticker stuck on it
Holding off getting a PS4, as no doubt, there will be a Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain bundle with Ground Zeroes.l
Damn. Lame.
I’m buying a ps4 (well ordering one I guess?) in the next week or so, any bundles anyone knows of available?
The only bundles I know of was that Killzone one, but that’s long since sold out I think. I believe I heard about a Infamous PS4 bundle a while ago but don’t know if that was coming here. Given how in demand they are at the moment I don’t think most retailers would bother making their own either.
I’ll check around, if an inFamous one is coming out, given thats the game I want primarily, I’m willing to wait a few weeks and I’ll pre-order one if possible. Ta dude 🙂
Wait, what if instead of making “special edition” consoles with no real difference to the normal one and which will look outdated when the game’s a few years old, why not make ones with different specs so that they can run the game at a higher resolution/ better quality/ better FPS?
Because people would flip their shit.
Why not just make all the consoles better? Running a complete new product line with dedicated custom components would be prohibitively expensive and never recoup the cost of production unless mass marketed
Why not just sell the stickers for $10 then?
I agree that a sticker is a bit of a crap way to make something a special edition, maybe special edition of the game could come with a sticker for the console. Now if they’d laser etched the design into the console, that’d feel a little less phoned in
Looks lame. No special edition controller?
The console isn’t even out in Japan yet (22nd feb) yet they’re already announcing special editions…
im a huge MGS fan so i was going to buy the console and game when it came out, now i just get a bonus
if it comes to aus that is
talk about a half assed job
If we do get this bundle here in Aus then I may end up moving to next gen earlier than expected. Was planning on just getting GZ for PS3, not sure now.
Remember the PS3 MGS4 console. That was a far more custom console. Like the Xbox ones that are painted all over in custom scheme.
I hope they do something like that for The Phantom Pain.
